The Walking Seeds - " Know Too Much e.p. " (Probe Plus 1986)

Not so much a DIY record, but DIY inspired. Huge living Creature contains probably the greatest fucked up guitar riff of aaaaalllllll time. Primitive fuzzed up garbage from Liverpool, largely ignored in 1986,but was an anti C-86 sound that ran against the mode.Great, not good.
When Martin Dempsey left the Mel-O-Tones in 1986, keeping the original name for his possible future projects (never to be, btw), the remaining members – Frank Martin (vocals), Bob Parker (bass) and John Neesham (drums) – stuck together, and with the collaboration of Barry Sutton, form the Marshmallow Overcoat, formed the Walking Seeds in 1986. This line-up recorded the band’s first single:

a1 Tantric Wipeout
a2 Eyes Too Big For Your Balls
b1 Huge Living Creature
b2 Milk

The Instant Automatons - " Blues Masters of the Humber Delta " (Deleted Records DEC 010) 1979

Instant Automatons third cassette album release from about 1980, on the near mythical cassette label from Grimsby, Deleted Records. More of the usual bedroom acoustics, third generation tape overdubs, and cheapo solid state sounds from Protag and Mark Automaton(aka the instant automatons)................i thought they were called the Instant Automations (see the "tions" instead of the "tons") for years, and still call them that,in fact i prefer it.
Anyway, another great tape from deleted.....gods of hiss they are.

Alternative TV - " The Radio Sessions " (1977-81)

How great were ATV?......the answer can be found in the form of their peel session from 1978.
Ignore the last track from Bangkok radio (uh?)...which sort of wipes out any progress Mark P made up to 81, a boring return to normal rock and roll.
Tracks 5-11 are what prog rock should have evolved into if they sacked off the public school boys. The outer limits of "Good" is what this is.
Remember......the "punks" wanted to hurt mark for making this music......he did this for YOU!

Tracks 1-4 is from Peel Session, December 1977, tracks 5-8 from Peel Session, July 1978, tracks 9-11 from Street Level Radio 1981 and track 12 is from Bangkok Radio?????? 1986.
